Data protection declaration

INFORMATION ON DATA PROTECTION

The Stiftung Zukunftsfähigkeit appreciates your interest and your visit to our website. We want you to feel comfortable during your visit on our website and also in other contact with us and are aware that the protection of your privacy is an important concern. As a non-profit organization that relies on donations, we take the protection of your personal data very seriously. It goes without saying that we comply with the statutory data protection regulations.

In the following, we would like to briefly explain what data is collected during your visit to our website and also when you use our offers, how it is used and what measures we take to protect your data.

1. SUBJECT OF DATA PROTECTION

The subject of data protection is personal data. This includes all information about identified or identifiable natural persons. This includes, for example, information such as name, postal address, e-mail address or telephone number, but also, where applicable, usage data such as your IP address.

2. DATA COLLECTION AND DATA PROCESSING

The use of our website is generally possible without providing personal data. Insofar as personal data (for example, name, address or e-mail address) is collected on our pages, this is always done, as far as possible, on a voluntary basis. For example, by using the contact form or by a direct email inquiry on your part. This data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent.

We would like to point out that data transmission over the Internet (e.g. communication by e-mail) can involve security gaps. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.

When you visit our website, the device with which you call up the page automatically transmits log data (connection data) to the web server, which cannot be assigned to a specific person. This data includes, for example, the browser type and version, operating system used, referrer URL (previously visited page), IP address of the requested computer, access date and time of the server request and the client’s file request (file name and URL).

3. USE AND DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL DATA

We collect and process personal data if you provide us with this information voluntarily, e.g. in the context of an inquiry via the contact form, by email, by fax or also by telephone.

Provided that there are no necessary reasons in connection with the processing of an inquiry, you may at any time revoke the previously granted permission to store your personal data with immediate effect in writing (by e-mail or fax).

Furthermore, the deletion of the stored personal data takes place if their knowledge is no longer necessary for the fulfillment of the purpose pursued with the storage or if their storage is inadmissible for other legal reasons.

Your data will not be disclosed to third parties unless disclosure is required by law

a) YouTube

Our website integrates plugins from www.youtube.com, which is operated by Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States (“Google”). When you call up pages of our website that are provided with such a plugin, a connection is established to the YouTube servers and the plugin is displayed on the website by informing your browser. This transmits to the YouTube server which of our Internet pages you have visited. If you are logged in as a member of YouTube, YouTube assigns this information to your respective personal user accounts of these platforms. When using these plugins, e.g. by clicking/starting buttons of a video or sending a comment, this information is assigned to your e.g. YouTube user account, which you can only prevent by logging out before using the plugin. For more information on the collection and use of data by the platform or plugins, please refer to YouTube’s privacy policy at the following link: www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/. We use embedded YouTube videos in extended data protection mode. This means that YouTube does not store cookies for a user who views a website with an embedded YouTube video player, but does not click on the video to start playback.

b) Other Internet services and social networks.

As Stiftung Zukunftsfähigkeit, we are also testing new services to support the Internet-friendly and contemporary dissemination of content. We network our offerings with social networks such as Twitter and YouTube. For example, we integrate offers from providers such as YouTube or Twitter (including videos), which are located on their servers, into our websites (also called “embedding”). If you call up such a website with content from another provider, this provider receives the IP address of your device with which you are online. From this IP address, the provider cannot yet draw any conclusions about your person, but it knows, for example, where you are (geographically). In addition, the providers can set so-called cookies on your device, with which they can log your surfing behavior.

c) German Lobby Register

A new legal framework for the transfer of donor data is given through the Lobby Register Legislation, which became active law in Germany on January 1st, 2022. If donations or other contributions exceed an amount of EUR 20,000 or the total value of EUR 20,000 in a full calendar year per one donor, the law stipulates to publish the annual sum of the donation, the name of the person or company/institution, as well as their place of residence or registered office in the lobby register. The names of the donors and the amounts of the donations are publicly visible in the lobby register, the place of residence is not.

4. RIGHT TO INFORMATION

In accordance with applicable law, you may at any time submit a written request (e.g. by e-mail, post or fax) for information about the personal data we have stored about you, including the origin and recipients of your data and the purpose of the data storage.

Please address your written request to the address mentioned under point 11.

5. DATA SECURITY

Your personal data provided to us will be secured by taking all technical as well as organizational security measures in such a way that the risk of their destruction or loss, possible unauthorized access by third parties or unauthorized processing is reduced to a minimum.

When sending very sensitive data or information, we recommend that you use the postal service, as complete data security cannot be guaranteed by mail.

6. USE OF COOKIES

The internet pages partly use so-called cookies. Cookies do not cause any damage to your computer and do not contain viruses. Cookies serve to make our offer more user-friendly, more effective and safer. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser.

Most of the cookies we use are so-called “session cookies”. They are automatically deleted after the end of your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your terminal device until you delete them. These cookies allow us to recognize your browser on your next visit.

You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, allow the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or generally exclude them and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be limited.

7. SSL ENCRYPTION

This site uses SSL encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as requests that you send to us as site operator. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser line. If SSL encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

8. OBJECTION TO ADVERTISING MAILS

We hereby object to the use of contact data published within the framework of the imprint obligation to send advertising and information material that has not been expressly requested. The operators of the pages expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of the unsolicited sending of advertising information, such as spam e-mails.

9. SCOPE OF APPLICATION AND CHANGES TO THE DATA PROTECTION DECLARATION

This privacy policy applies only to the content on our servers and does not cover websites linked to our site.

We will update the policies imposed on us to protect your personal information from time to time. We encourage you to review our policies occasionally to stay informed about how we are protecting your information. If we make any material changes to the collection, use and/or disclosure of the personal information you provide to us, we will post a prominent notice on the Site.

By using our website, you agree to the terms of our privacy policy.
